HeART and Art of Successful Coaching

Target Audience
– Division 1 Officers or Senior Executives.
– Executives, supervisors and all who are concerned with the growth and development of their staff; and are wiling to invest time and effort to ‘come alongside’ their staff to help them grow.

Course Objectives
Leaders, managers and supervisors do not only manage projects, they have to motivate and lead people to become the best that they can be. Coaching is about change and transformation – about growing and modifying behaviours to attain set goals and objectives. An essential skill for managers and supervisors is the ability to engage and empower others to be more effective in goal setting, problem solving and to improve in work performance. This workshop aims to equip leaders, managers and supervisors to become effective and empowering coaches.

At the end of this programme, you would be able to :
1.  Understand the Principles of Coaching – G.R.I.P
2.  Apply an effective Process for Coaching – G.R.O.W.T.H
3.  Use techniques and tools to enhance their coaching. These skills include :

  • Effective Verbal and non-verbal communication in Coaching.
  • Building bond and establishing rapport.
  • Performance Management, Appraisal and Development
  • Motivating and Affirming staff.
  • Problem Solving and Conflict Management
  • Providing and receiving feedback appropriately and develop actions plan for development.
  • Reading, understanding, and responding to different human behaviour.

Intra-Personal Skills – Self-Awareness
– Qualities of an effective coach – What it takes to be a successful coach
– Create a positive mental attitude for being a coach
– Develop and sustain a high level of self-motivation
– Manage anger, stress and frustration in coaching relationships
– Understand your personal behavioural, communication and coaching style.

Inter-Personal and Motivational Skills
– Reading, understanding and responding appropriately to different behavioural,
communication and working styles.
–  Building trust and rapport to have a positive influence on the ‘coached’
–  Practicing effective inter-personal communication techniques.
– Listening beyond words – reading between the lines
– Motivate for higher achievements and create enthusiasm

TRAINING METHODOLOGY
This workshop will be conducted using hands-on experiential learning methodology. Participants will be emotionally inspired and intellectually challenged through a balanced use of interactive, engaging and fun activities, group interactions, presentations, case studies and mini-lectures. This session will help participants discover useful knowledge and practical skills that can be applied right away.
